Dr. Steven Murray is a chiropractor with graduate training in exercise physiology, whose practice is built on evidence-based, active care. He holds a BSc in Physiology and an MSc in Exercise Physiology from McGill University, and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also holds additional certification as a CSEP High Performance Specialist.
Steven combines targeted manual therapy with structured, progressive rehabilitation. Each plan of care begins with a thorough assessment, including movement screening, orthopaedic and neurological testing, and functional demand assessment, such as running gait or workstation analysis, where relevant. The goal is to find both the source of pain and the load and movement factors driving it.
In-clinic treatment such as spinal manipulation, joint mobilization, soft-tissue therapy, and laser or shockwave therapy reduces pain and restores function quickly. That work is reinforced with a concise, individualized home exercise program that is progressed from visit to visit. Steven’s view is that lasting outcomes are built by what patients do between appointments, so his exercise prescriptions are deliberately short, specific, and easy to follow consistently.
Drawing on his background in exercise physiology, Steven’s clinical interests include sport-related injury and biomechanics, running gait analysis, concussion assessment and management, ergonomic assessment, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, and nutrition counselling. Whether a patient is managing recurring neck or back pain from desk work or preparing to return to competition, his focus is on restoring capacity, not just relieving symptoms.
A former member of the McGill Track and Field team and a provincial and national medallist, Steven continues to train and race with local running groups. He also plays golf, volleyball, and ice hockey. This gives him first-hand insight into the physical demands his active patients face.
